In contrast to Passive Sensory Attention, this skill actively focuses on the sensory process of the pain signals without judgement. This guided process helps you learn how to focus on these pain signals in a new way, by focusing on strictly the physical sensation. With practice, this skill can help to disengage from evaluations, threat detection, or agonizing thoughts and emotions associated with the pain sensory signals.
