Passive Sensory Attention takes advantage of the physiological process that releases natural opioids from an area of your brain called the periaqueductal grey. By focusing on sensations of parts of your body that are not sending pain signals, or are less painful than other areas of your body, your brain activates a sequence of events that releases these natural opioids. Natural opioids cause your spinal cord to reduce or block the transmission of the pain signals. This time we will focus on different parts of the Feet.
